ABOUT US
This website has been created and is maintained in the framework of the SALA+ project, a "support action" funded by the European Commission (Directorate General Information Society and Media) under its 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7). |
|
The SALA+ project, aiming at connecting Latin America and Europe through R&D cooperation in the networked electronic media (NEM) area, is a 24 month project launched in March 2008.
The project also aims at analysing and building upon existing R&D programmes and key organisations involved in the NEM field in order to propose new thematic priorities for strategic cooperation in the NEM field and support the development of a Strategic Research Agenda for R&D cooperation between Europe and Latin America in the NEM field, taking into account the European Commission’s FP7 Work Programme, and other initiatives such as the NEM Strategic Research Agenda, etc.
SALA+ will organise a number of workshops and seminars in Latin America to create awareness and promote the Euro-LatAm cooperation in the NEM field and provide the NEM communities from both regions with opportunities to strengthen their relations and work together on potential cooperation projects, namely in the framework of FP7.
In order to facilitate connections between European and LatAm ICT communities, a community restricted area will be opened on this website, featuring the short profiles, ID pictures and contact information of representatives from European and LatAm organisations interested in the SALA+ project.
The SALA+ Consortium consists of AETIC, project coordinator, the Centre for Technology and Innovation Management GmbH (CETIM), the Queen Mary University of London and Sigma Consultants on the European side, and Rokasud, the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa Maria, the Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones de Guatemala, the Asociación de Reguladores (Regulatel), the Comisión Técnica Regional de Telecomunicaciones de Centro América, the Federación de Asociaciones de Latinoamérica el Caribe y España de entidades de Tecnología de la Información, Aretel Bio Bio, HyC Americas, and the Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Minería de Uruguay.
